Sailing Boat Bunting

Hi all, i hope you've been enjoying some Autumnal sunshine this week?! We've had some lovely days here which has meant some precious opportunities to get some product photography done, as well as some beautiful country walks and blackberry picking, yum! :)

New in my shop this week is this sailing boat bunting, perfect for a coastal themed decor scheme or little boy's bedroom and available now from my Etsy shop, priced £9.00 for a six flag length.

The design features fabrics from my On The Open Ocean collection,

and matches with the sailing boat doorstop also available from my Etsy shop.

A slightly unseasonal offering this week but hopefully one my fellow seaside fans will enjoy :) I'm trying to hold off from showering you with festive delights too early... but that time is fast approaching!

Coastal Doorstop For Handmade Monday

Its felt like a busy week although when i look back i'm not quite sure what i've done... ever have weeks like that?

Happily though i did find a gap in my hectic schedule of busy non-achievement to add to my range of coastal decor items... As always, i look forward to reading your comments :)

Coastal Doorstop

As with the lavender fish i showed you last week, this doorstop features two of the fabrics from my On The Open Ocean collection (which are now available from my Spoonflower shop).

I could have used just one but i quite like the mix and match patchwork effect... what do you think?

Its 20cms in height (excluding the handle) and features a velcro sealed opening at the top for easy filling with dried grain or beans - about 1.3kg should do it.

I've toyed with other designs but i like the simplicity and user friendliness of this one. No mess or complicated filling instructions and when it needs a wash the filling can easiliy be decanted into another container.

I should have it listed on my website, Etsy shop and other outlets by tomorrow, priced £12. I'm going to get some more made up with other fabrics too so it will be interesting to hear if you think the design needs tweeking first...?

In Other News... A Curious Kitty

Before i sign off for this week i just have to show you this adorable kitten - spotted in a farmyard whilst out walking this week.

Mum and the two other kittens stayed back but this little one was bold as brass!

The dog's eyes were popping out on stalks! :)

Of course since then i've been subtly (ok, perhaps not so subtly) suggesting to the other half that its time for us to get little kitten :) no luck so far though...

Lavender Fish For Handmade Monday

Its been sooooo lovely to be blessed with another week of sunny weather. All the plants have enjoyed it too... cucumbers and tomatoes are creating a jungle in our little green house and on the allotment its strawberries galore... Today i'm busy making strawberry jam, strawberry wine, strawberry ice-cream as well as picking more strawberries!

Lavender Fish

Regular visitors to my blog may remember me showing you my 'On The Open Ocean' designs a little while ago. If you missed it you'll find the fabric collection in my Spoonflower shop and the printable craft papers in my Print and Paper shop on Etsy.

As always i ordered 8x8" swatches of all the fabrics from Spoonflower to check the colours and print size before offering them for sale. I'm really happy with how they turned out and i thought it would be fun to make some lavender fish.

Each fish features two of the fabrics, one on each side.

They come in pairs with one fish on either end of a knotted rope.

As with all my lavender pillows they are filled with a deliciously aromatic combination of pure sheep's wool and cotswold lavender and the fabric is a top quality linen cotton blend.

I think they're a fun way to create a bit of seasonal 'beach-chic' or to compliment a coastal decor style at any time of year. I hope you like them too!

I've also got some larger pieces of fabric from the On The Open Ocean collection which i'm hoping to make some other lovely seasidey things with soon... I'll let you know how i get on.
