Winter Nature Notecards And Christmas Bauble Commissions For Handmade Monday

Hi all, i hope you've had a lovely week! I've been enjoying the warm light of these Autumn days, country walks are just so beautiful at this time of year and i've been able to take some great photos for potential use on future notecards.

However, my main focus just now is on stocking my shops in preparation for the season ahead so there's more than a touch of frost to be found in the rest of today's post... brrr... i hope you've got your winter woolies at the ready! :)

Winter Notecards

I like putting my cards into little collections on a theme, i enjoy the visual appeal of a set and the way each helps set the tone for the others. These three images make up my 'Nature Walks, Winter' collection...

...thawing red berries against a snowy landscape, a beautiful frost covered spiders web and a solitary tree with a stripe of drifted snow. The set is available from my website and print and Paper Etsy shop now priced £5.25.

I've also used the thawing berries image to create an alternative 'winter wishes' Christmas card for those who don't wish a religious message or just fancy something a bit different!

Its also available now from my website and Print and Paper Etsy shop priced £1.99.

The final card i want to show you isn't wintery as such but it is snowy white so i thought it would fit with the theme! It features a photograph i took of a silvery white feather on a white background, i love the light in this image and its simplicity, i hope you do too!

It is also priced £1.99 and is available now from my website and Etsy shop.

Special Offer On All Cards

If you stopped by my blog last week you may remember me saying that although i've now increased my price on individual cards to £1.99, i wanted to introduce a special offer that gives customers buying more than one card the opportunity to make a saving.

Well, this week i've introduced two new listings on my website and Etsy shop, 2 cards for £3.50 and 3 cards for £5.25, representing a much more tempting per card price of £1.75 for customer buying more than one.

These offers apply to all of my cards (including Christmas cards) so its easy to pick up a few for different occasions and get them at a great price!

Christmas Bauble Commissions

Its that time of year when orders for personalised Christmas items start coming in (from those clever peeps who know how to plan ahead!)

To round off today's post i'd like to show you a couple of lovely ones i've worked on recently. This ceramic Union Jack bauble is for a couple who will be celebrating their first Christmas in the UK this year. I've blurred the names but i think you still get the idea. It was a real pleasure to create something to commemorate this exciting time in their lives and i wish them the warmest welcome to our shores!

Another very special commission was a bauble to commemorate a 25th wedding anniversary for none other than the lovely Ali Bee who many of you reading this will recognise as a regular Handmade Mondayer.

Ali left the design up to me so i had a wonderful time thinking about how best to approach such a special momento. In the end i went for a design in silver (25th anniversary) and white, with a heart on each side for the names and anniversary, amongst leaves and scrolling branches to represent the way a relationship grows and evolves over the years.

I'm really pleased with how it turned out and happily, Ali is too! Thank you again Ali for trusting me with this special task :) x

And now its Handmade Monday time! I'm off to find out what's happening over at the Harbour this week... See you there!

Custom Mug Designs For Handmade Monday

Happy New Year to those of you i haven't encountered in blog land over the last couple of weeks, i hope you are feeling refreshed after all the festive fun?!

I had a fantastic family Christmas but now i'm itching to get started on a host of new projects i've got planned for this year... i will tell you more about some of them very soon!

Custom Mug Designs

I love being given the opportunity to work together with a customer on an idea they have for something they'd like made, especially when its a gift for someone special - somehow their enthusiasm rubs off on me and i'm always super inspired and excited by these kind of projects!

Today i'd like to share with you a couple of mug designs i've created over the last few months, both were for talented crafters which added a bit of extra pressure to create something special! They were both very pleased with the results though i'm happy to say :)

Mugs For Men - The Kite Surfer Design

If you've been reading my blog for a while you may remember me showing you this drummer mug which i painted back in August.

Well, a lovely lady called Zoe saw it and asked me if i would create a similarly styled silhouette mug for her husband. She wanted the image to be a kite surfer, with a wrap around design, a splash of colour, and the words 'i'd rather be kite surfing'. This is what i came up with...

The wrap around design makes it a bit difficult to photograph but hopefully you get the idea with these shots. I had so much fun working on this design and i'm super grateful to Zoe for trusting me to do it!

Rainbow Umbrella - Best Friend Mug

Sandhya is a lovely lady who i connected with through Etsy. She has a gorgeous Etsy shop of her own (which i'll be doing a feature on soon so watch this space!) and i was thrilled that she wanted me to design a special Christmas gift for her to give to her best friend.

She wanted something based around the Rihanna song, 'Umbrella', with a rainbow colour scheme, and we put our ideas together to come up with this design.

I love all the bright colours and had so much fun painting it - happily, the recipient of the mug loved it too!

Commission Your Own Custom Design Hand Painted Mug

If you have an idea for a mug design that you'd like my help to bring to life then do get in touch (my email is in the sidebar, or you can contact me through my website, Etsy or other shops) i'm more than happy to chat things over, share my ideas and let you know what is possible!

The price for a large mug is £14/£15 and a regular mug, £12/£13.

Christmas Pressies! A Colourful Pen Roll

I haven't forgotten that i promised to show you some more of the Christmas pressies i made for friends and family. I have to confess that i neglected to photograph most of the things i intended to show you before i gave them as gifts! Such is the way of things during the franticness of pre-Christmas preparations :)

However, i briefly borrowed back this colourful pen roll (complete with a much coveted set of coloured fineliner pens) from the lovely young lady i gave it to, just to get a couple of photos for you!

I'm really pleased with how it turned out (and am sooooooooooo in love with this Michael Miller fabric!) i hope you like it too :)

Handmade Monday

Its time to say thank you for visiting for another week and fly off through cyber space to Handmade Monday to find out all about what my fellow crafty bloggers have been up to... see you next time! x
