Its been an exciting week for Free Spirit Designs as i had a special request from the BBC for some of my hand painted ceramic 'Star Baker' stars to give out to some very cute little bakers in Children In Need night - it was super exciting to see my handiwork on the tele! I also got some lovely feedback from the researcher who ordered them so i'm chuffed with that :)
You might be interested to know that she found the stars via a blog post i'd written about them rather than from any of my shop listings - it just goes to show, you never know who might be reading your blog!
Back to all things Christmassy and the rustic vibe continues... as always, i look forward to hearing what you think of this week's makes!
Rustic Christmas Wine Bottle Gift Bag
When it comes in a lovely handmade gift bag! Well, that's the theory anyway :)
The bag is decorated with an applique hessian 'Be Merry' banner, with one of the snowflake fabrics from my Winter Wonderland collection as a background.
It comes with a lovely handmade tag too, with the snowflake fabric on the front, a layer of hessian in the centre, and a brown paper writing surface on the back.
Be Merry Rustic Christmas Banner
Still on the 'Be Merry' theme, i've made this cheery banner too.
It would be perfect for hanging on a mantle piece, beam or book shelf, anywhere you want to create a warm Christmas spirit :)
I'm particularly pleased with the Christmas puddings, i love the different textures of the fabric, especially the faux suede that makes up the pudding bit which has a nice rich shine to it, perfect for a Christmas pudding!
I'd quite like to make some more things featuring these little puddings if i find the time, any bright ideas of what they would work well on?
That's it from me for another week, lots of Christmas orders coming in now so i'm off to work on some of them - not before i take a trip to Handmade Harbour to find out what everyone else has been up to though! See you there! x
Huge, HUGE congratulations on getting some of your items on telly! I should think you are rightly very proud of yourself. I love your gift bag for a bottle of wine, a perfect way to make the gift more special.
ReplyDeleteAww thank you very much! It was a lovely surprise :)
DeleteThank you, i'm glad you think so :) x
Well done with the stars! The bottle bag is nice, I like the hessian bunting in the design, and it goes so well with your fabric. Table runner for the puddings? Or coasters/placemats
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOooh good ideas, thanks :) x
I love hessian and you've made some great xmas pieces with it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen! x
DeleteGosh, your work on TV I bet you were jumping up and down....I would be!! Nice to put a special bottle into a nice bag, and what can be nicer than handmade.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes it was exciting!
DeleteSo true :) x
Your 'stars' have become "stars" how exciting!!
ReplyDeleteThe rustic bottle gift bag is a classy touch, rather than just handing over a bottle, the tag is clever with the brown paper included.
love love love the pudding hope you find the time to incorporate it in more designs xx
Hehe! Thank you! :)

DeleteWow I was thrilled to see your wonderful work being shown on the tv. More gorgeous makes. The wine bottle covers are wonderful. So much nicer than those paper ones. Your detail is fantastic, I love the little bunting on the cover. And of course your big bunting is lovely, those Christmas puds look good enough to eat. Hope your having a lovely week.

Wow, congrats on the BBC spot! That's exciting and probably pretty good publicity for you too. Nice work! I love the burlap products, Christmas is always good for decorating with burlap.
