Black Cat And Christmas Pud Baubles, A Ceramic Star Decoration And A Squeaky Dog Toy For Handmade Monday

Phew, i think that's the longest title i've ever given a blog post! Lots of little things to show you today and none of them wanted to miss out :)

Thank you very much to those who left lovely comments about my nature finds Christmas cards last week your input has been invaluable as always. I look forward to hearing what your favs are from today's selection!

Christmas Pudding Bauble With Personalised Tag

I couldn't resist having a go at a Christmas pud bauble this year, the roundness lends itself so willingly to the design. I'm particularly pleased with how the cake part turned out, i had fun adding little currents, cherries and bits of mixed peel, it really was just like cooking and i think it looks almost good enough to eat :)

This pudding also has a pretty red and gold gift tag painted on which i will personalise with a name/short message chosen by its new owner - a fun Christmas pressie i think!

This bauble is priced £12.95 and is available from my Etsy shop, website and WTY shop.

Christmas Black Cat Bauble

Another new bauble in my shops this week is this black cat in its santa hat.

It has a comically large head  and long tail that wraps around to the reverse side where there is also room for me to add a name or short personalised message.

This festive kitty is also priced £12.95 and available from the usual places!

'Make A Wish' Ceramic Star Decoration

A simple design next but one of my favourites.

This ceramic star decoration has been painted white with porcelain enamel paint which has a lovely satin finnish. The silver writing is hand painted in a print stamp style complimented by twinkly silver hanging ribbon.

As with the baubles i'm happy to add a name or short message to the reverse side of the star. I think it would make a really sweet gift - i love wishes, i hope you do too :)

It is available now from my usual outlets priced £6.50.

Running Whippets Squeaky Dog Toy

Finally for today i wanted to show you the beginnings of a new range in the Free Spirit Designs pipeline... a bone shaped squeaky dog toy!

It features a durable linen cotton blend fabric with my running whippet design on one side and organic white cotton canvas on the other.

It is stuffed with pure natural sheep's wool (dogs love the smell and unlike most doggy things, it smells good to human noses too!). Internally its double stitched to keep the wool and squeaker safely contained (if you have a pooch that prides itself on being an expert squeaker remover it is available squeakless too!)

I have a couple of other new doggy items in production featuring this fabric (which is available from my spoonflower shop for your own makes). I won't tell you what they are yet but i'm looking forward to showing you the whole collection when its done.

Do you give your pets Christmas pressies? I think i might treat my little fella to one of my new squeaky bones this year - he showed a great deal of interest in the production process, especially when i couldn't resist an experimental squeak or two! :)

They will be available in my shop's soon with a choice of sizes - i'll keep you updated.

Now i'm off over to Handmade Harbour... excited to see what everyone else has been working on on the run up to Christmas. I know we crafter's are super busy at this time of year so i'm especially appreciative of those who still manage to pop over and leave such lovely comments on my blog, its always lovely to see you :)

Have a great week! x

  2. Wonderful designs as usual. I really like the christmas pudding bauble it looks fantastic. The make a wish star is perfect with it's simple message. Did you decide if you are going to put a message in your cards? We always buy the cat and dog a present, we must be mad. However our dog really does understand this. When it's someone's birthday he sits waiting for his turn to unwrap something. I know Natalie I am mad.
    Have a lovely week.

Yes i did decide, i went with season's greetings in the end as it seemed to be the popular choice, i have ordered them but they haven't arrived yet!

Hehe that's so cute! When i was growing up we had a tradition in our family where the dogs would get a sausage wrapped in newspaper on their birthdays, it was always great fun to see them unwrap them :) Both my brother and i have dogs of our own now and we always give them birthday pressies, not always the traditional sausage though, i think River got some mackerel last year! :)

  3. I adore Christmas puds, and yours is a rather special one, I think - just gorgeous with its drippy icing! I think the cat bauble might be quite popular. The tip about stuffing a doggy toy with sheep's wool is an excellent one and timely for me - I want to make some doggy chew toys for my guide dog puppy when he/she arrives!

  4. Adore the Pudding bauble it's amazing!! I'm not a cat person, so cat products don't excite me, but I know they are very popular.

  5. I love the Christmas pudding, and getting the right texture is very clever. I am a cat lover, in fact I have one on my lap as I type, but I think the star is my favourite. It is so simple and elegant.
