Rose Garden Tea Cups, Pink Heart Magnets And Signs Of Spring For Handmade Monday

Yes, we've had yet more snow this week... but we're on the thaw now and my focus has turned to all things Spring!

I'm pretty pleased with the set of pink heart magnets pictured above... simple but cute! The perfect little pressie for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or any day you fancy a little pressie for yourself :) (we all get days like that, right? :))

Rose Garden Tea Cup And Saucer

I love roses. Here's one i captured last Summer's (on one of the few sunny days!) I can't wait to see them out again this year...

Until then i will have to make do with roses i can make for myself and this week i've been painting a little rose garden on some tea cups and saucers.

Its an abstract design with circles for the rose heads and just a stem here and there.

I'm a big fan of the simple pleasures in life. A cup of tea (and a generous slice of cake!) enjoyed under a warm afternoon sun amongst the beauty and delicious fragrance of roses in bloom is bliss...

...my aim with this design was to capture just a little of that magic :)

This tea and saucer set will be priced £15 (£28 for two) and available in my Etsy shop very soon! (There is also an option to personalise this design with some words around the edge of the saucer)

In Other News... Signs Of Spring

Just so you know i'm not living in complete fantasy land, i popped out with the camera today to look for signs that Spring really is on its way (after a deluge of rain washed the last of the snow away last night!)

There are some promising signs of greenery out in the woods...

...including this first tender shoot of wild garlic...

... its ridiculous how much i'm looking forward to it carpeting the woodland floor again - not only is it very beautiful, wild garlic pesto is sooooooooooooo good!! :)

Back home in our garden my favourite little bird bath is looking decidedly weathered but nevertheless reminiscent of balmier days to come...

... and happily i found that our little bulbs have valiantly triumphed over the cold snap...

...and were, like me, enjoying some welcome rays of sun.

I will leave you with this picture i took of my little heart lantern looking pretty in the sunshine streaming into our porch this morning...

... it wasn't until i uploaded the photos onto my computer that i realised how close another interested party had got to the action!

Handmade Monday

What a super turn out for last week's 100th celebration! Thank you so much to all those who took the time to pop by my blog, your comments were all so lovely and greatly appreciated xxx

Before i get on with my next Spring inspired creations, i'm off over to Handmade Harbour now to join in with this week's Handmade Monday link up. Do pop over there too if you can, there's always lots of lovely crafting to see!

  1. That cup & saucer set is amazing - it really does capture roses in the garden - aahhhhh! The heart magnets are really clever too. I planted some bulbs in bud this afternoon, and a few primulas and a couple of pots of aubretia. It's been quite warm here, but I think there's a lot of rain on the way!
