Cat And Dog Personalised Christmas Baubles For Handmade Monday

Christmas decorations are such fun little projects, i think they are one of my favourite things to make! I haven't done any more designs on the porcelain hanging hearts that i showed you last week as i have discovered that the supplier no longer stocks them (and i don't have many left). However, i have plenty of the baubles, so have been having lots of fun with them!

Cat And Dog Christmas Baubles

Does anyone else do that thing where the family pet gives pressies on birthdays and Christmas? When i was growing up i would always get a present from the dog (labelled in my Mum's handwriting...) I thought that it would be nice to do some bauble's that would make good 'from the dog/cat' Christmas presents :)

"Santa's Little Helper" Dog Bauble

When i showed you my Christmas cat design on one of the porcelain hearts last week, several of you were kind enough to show enthusiasm for a doggy equivalent - the picture at the top of this post is the design i came up with... i hope you like it! (Thank you very much for all your lovely comments about my Christmas decorations btw, they are greatly appreciated x)

It can be personalised with a message on the reverse side and i think it would be a really fun gift for a dog lover.

They will be available very soon from my Etsy shop (and other outlets) priced £12, with the option of gift wrapping and a personalised gift tag message included.

"Miaowry Christmas" Cat Bauble

Here is the cat version! (look out for it in Etsy shop and other outlets soon).

If you popped by my blog last week you'll recognise this design from the porcelain hearts, although i have now added the 'Miaowry Christmas' greeting (is this one of those jokes that i think is funny and clever but nobody else gets i wonder...? :))

I will be offering the option to have a different message or no message at all (as well as the option of having a message on the reverse like i did with the doggy one) - hopefully that will cover most people's preferences!

Peace Dove Silhouette Christmas Bauble

Here's another design that i tried out on the heart which i think really suits the spherical shape of the bauble... this too will pop up in my Etsy shop and other outlets very soon priced £12 - with personalisation and optional gift wrap included.

In Other News...

Kindle Case

I branched into new territory this week to make a birthday present for someone - a case for the new kindle fire. Its always fun to do something new, and i'm tempted to make more now that i'm starting to get the hang of it!

The button is just for prettiness - i decided a velcro fastening would be more practical...

Christmas Posting Dates

I had my first enquiry about Christmas last posting dates from a customer this week and this spurred me on to read up on the Royal Mail's Christmas posting guide. All my Etsy shop listings now have the required information for customers ordering from all over the world (did you know the last recommended posting date from the UK to Australia is only three weeks away!)

Handmade Monday

As always i am linking this weekly post on the comings and goings here at Free Spirit Designs with Wendy's fabulous crafters linky party, Handmade Monday, over at Handmade Harbour. Do pop along if you've never been, its a very friendly place and super inspiring too!

Have a great week :) x

  2. Painting on baubles must be a lot more tricky than the flat hearts, not that you would know it from looking at your designs. I think that the pet idea is a great one (although I don't have any pets). I like the cat joke although that may mean you and I are odd together!!

  9. The baubles look amazing, and I love the idea of cat and dog ones - I could see you having a good audience for those. How on earth do you manage to paint them without them rolling off all over the place I cannot imagine!

  11. Loving the doggy bauble, I wonder if you could do a Giant Schnauzer? Yours looks just like a certain Higgins!
The dove bauble is really lovely too, something a bit more traditional.
And thank you for the link to the last posting dates - I'd better have a good look at that.

  14. I am glad I am not the only one who does the 'gift from the cat' gig. In fact I still write tags out from Santa... and the only kids in the house? Me and hubby.

I love the bauble idea. Such a cute and thoughtful decoration. I have to agree with you and say that making decorations would be my most favoured part of the crafting year!

Newly followed your blog. It's so lovely and your stores are adorable!
