Sailing Boat Mug For Handmade Monday

A Change Of Season

Another fairly sunny week in these parts... hints of Autumn are making themselves know though... i picked my first ripe blackberry this week! (gave it to the dog as he loves them :)). I also spotted the rather beautiful site of harvested wheat fields stacked the old fashion way whilst out walking.

I've even started thinking about.... gulp... C.. okay i'm not going to say it but i'm sure you can guess! (I'm pretty pleased with my first make with this theme and i will be sure to share with you at a more seasonally appropriate moment!)

Sailing Boat Mug

Today i'm still embracing Summer though, and what could be more Summery than messing about on boats. I'm pretty pleased with how my sailing boat mug turned out, particularly the water which i think looks rather inviting! There are five boats in total, and each has an inspirational name - 'Love', 'Peace', 'Hope', 'Courage' and 'Wisdom'. However, i can easily customise this design with names to fit personal preferences. Here are some more images to show you the whole design.

It is priced at £14 and i have been uncharacteristically efficient and already listed it on my Website and Etsy shop

Cats Cats Cats

Thank you very much to all those who left thoughtful and generous comments on my last Handmade Monday post (where you may remember i showed you my black cat mugs). The consensus seemed to be that black cats are considered lucky - good news! I hope to get one one day :)

You may remember that i also gave you a little peek at my new colourful cats mug last week - i have since published a blog post all about it with lots of pictures, but here is another especially for you...

It is also listed in my Website and Etsy shop priced £14. I hope you like how it turned out!

And that's all for this week folks... I am looking forward to popping over to Handmade Harbour and find out what you've all been up to... I will try and visit as many blogs as i can tonight before cosying up to watch the Olympics closing ceremony :) What's been your highlight by the way? Mine was probably the dressage to music (which made me cry) or Jessica Ennis Winning the 800meters at the end of the heptathlon (which also made me cry! :))

Thanks for visiting x

  6. Fields filled with 'proper' stacked wheat is an awesome sight, not the same with the round plastic bales of nowadays. Sailing boats always remind me of lazy days at the beach.

yes, that's probably where my inspiration came from although i wasn't really aware of that as i was creating the design! x

  8. I like the waves lapping at the boats. My Uncle sails, and actually trained the Olympic team from 1997-2000, though if I'm honest, I find the sailing a little hard to follow and prefer the more straightforward first across the line gets gold type sports!

  11. The cat mug is my fave - but that's mainly because large bodies of water freak me out :)

    1. awww thank you Susie! that's really sweet of you :) i think its one of those things where practice helps to build your skills and confidence - i'm only just starting to get to grips with the possibilities with porcelain painting but i have done different types of painting on ceramics in the past and i think this helps...

i thought your mugs looks fab and also v professional too though! x
